How to Remove Paint From a Black Leather Jacket and a Cotton Sweater

Paint is an inexpensive way to revive an item or room. Unfortunately, paint is also messy and can drip, drop and splatter , landing on unwanted surfaces such as your black leather moncler puffer jacket or cotton sweater. When removing paint from leather and cotton, care must be taken not to damage the material. Certain products -- such as bleach -- can discolor and stain your leather and cotton garments.

Remove Paint on a Leather Jacket

1. Fill a small container with rubbing alcohol. Dip the corner of a clean cloth into the rubbing alcohol. Alternatively, replace the rubbing alcohol with water-displacing spray. Water-displacing spray is a commercial product -- such as WD-40 -- that repels water and prevents corrosion.

2. Scrub the paint gently with the cloth. Dip the cloth into the rubbing alcohol when it becomes dry.

5. Apply a leather cleaner and conditioner to a clean cloth and buff the black leather jacket as you normally would.

6. Consider contacting a professional leather cleaner to clean your black leather moncler vests sale.

Remove Paint on a Cotton Sweater

1. Use a plastic spoon to scrape off as much of the paint as possible. Rinse the paint stained area of the cotton sweater with cool, running water.

2. Fold several paper towels into a stack. Lay the paint stain face down on the paper towels so the back of the stain is facing upward.

3. Dip a clean rag in turpentine. Blot the back of the paint stain with the rag. Replace the stack of paper towels when they become saturated.

4. Continue blotting with the turpentine saturated rag and replacing the paper towels until you can no longer remove any paint.

5. Apply a drop or two of liquid dish soap to the stain. Rub into the fabric and allow to sit overnight. Launder the cotton sweater as you normally would.
